About the Wall of Honor

The Fort Miles Historical Association (FMHA) sponsors a Wall of Honor paver purchase program. This program allows you to purchase an engraved brick paver to honor a loved one(s). They need not be military. Not only are you recognizing your Honoree, you are also contributing to the on-going restoration and improvements to Fort Miles by FMHA volunteers.

The pavers are permanently displayed inside Battery 519 of the Fort Miles Historical Area within Cape Henlopen State Park, in Lewes, Delaware. In addition to the paver, FMHA maintains an electronic Memory Book of all of the Honorees on the Wall of Honor. This Memory Book allows you to submit biographical information including a description, pictures, documents, etc and is displayed on an interactive kiosk within the Battery. The Memory Book is available online at our website. That means that everyone can see the info about your loved without having to visit Fort Miles. You don’t need to give us info for the Memory Book now. Get your paver ordered and we’ll contact you later about the Memory Book.

Wall of Honor Ceremonies

New pavers are “inducted” into the Wall of Honor twice a year during a ceremony held in Battery 519 at the Fort. Patrons are invited to speak about their Honoree. The next ceremonies will be Sunday May 3, 2026 at 1:00 PM. and Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 1:00 PM.

Order a Paver

Ordering is easy and is done online through our Paver partner. Here you can create the inscription that you want to appear on the paver. You’re allowed 3 lines of 20 characters each. There’s a tool to help you with this. Also, see a sample paver at Wall of Honor. Click About, then click “View Honoree Example”. You can pay online or order online and send in a check.
