The Eastern Range
Fort Miles contained the Eastern test range for the US Army during WWII and in the early post war period. Key weapons development, testing and training occurred at Cape Henlopen including work on the proximity fuse and the first surface to air missile. Ms. Dykes will share how Ft. Miles worked with major government research and development programs during World War II and the post war period.
