FMHA will host its annual D-Day Ceremony at Fort Miles Museum in Cape Henlopen State Park. This event is open to the public. Join us for a moving tribute to the brave souls who sacrificed their all on D-Day.
When: Saturday, June 6, 10 a.m.
Where: The Fort Miles Museum event venue overlooking the Atlantic Ocean
This solemn commemoration will include:
- Tolling of the bell for each of the 40 Delawareans who died during the Battle of Normandy
- Honor Guard from VFW Mason Dixon Post 7234
- WWII Tunes by Bagpiper Lani Spahr
- Display of Chaplain’s Kit that went ashore on D-Day
- Tribute to U.S, Army BG Theodore Roosevelt, Jr.
Fort Miles Museum will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. following the ceremony. Guided tours will be available at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Cost for tours is $6.00.
